Description"Oh, how cute!" is the usual response when people first set foot inside Gillies Cottage. This sweet old timber cottage in the heart of the heritage village of Bangalow was completely renovated in 2000 (and repainted in 2008), maintaining all its charm but providing modern day conveniences. Fully equipped for your comfort, with linen & towels provided, Gillies has a bright colour scheme with furnishings that include Australian & Indian antiques. It sleeps a maximum of 4 in 2 queen beds and features locally hand-crafted timber in the kitchen & bathroom. The rear deck overlooks lovely Bangalow park where the creek is a home for turtles & water dragons. Well-behaved dogs are welcome - and welcome to come inside on the understanding that they are not allowed in the bedrooms or on the furniture, and they are cleaned up after. The park immediately to the rear of the cottage is a designated dog exercise area. There's also a local dog-walking crowd that meets late afternoon every day in the showground. Visitors' Comments: "Such a beautiful, cosy, well looked after home away from home. We never want to leave!" "We were overwhelmed by the charm of this inviting cottage." "What a gorgeous little place - it feels just like home!" "A delightful surprise. We appreciated the care & attention paid to this charming cottage." "Delightful! And thank you for being dog-friendly. Little touches like the fruit & flowers made it all the more special." "Very comfortable. Charmingly renovated. Dogs had a great time. Hope to be back." Bangalow is nestled in the rolling hills behind Byron Bay. Originally settled in the late 1800s, it still retains its heritage character with many beautiful turn-of-last-century buildings in the main street which now house some wonderful restaurants, cafes, shops & galleries. Bangalow's popular market, held on the 4th Sunday of each month, is busy, colourful and not to be missed! Features
